Isabel Kate

July 24th, 2010

6 weeks ago a very special person made their way (quite speedily!) into this world, someone we thought for a horrible few months might never exist. Our little miracle.

Our beautiful daughter Isabel Kate was born at 18.18hrs on June 9th weighing in at a perfect 7lbs 6 ounces and 51cm long. Now at 6 weeks old she has grown to 10lbs 2ounces and 63cm long, she’s going to be tall like her daddy! She is the most peaceful little soul I have ever met. The friendliest little soul too. She smiles at everyone and everything now, melting little smiles and a snort when she tries to laugh.

This little girl has fit into our lives perfectly. In fact, I can’t really imagine life without her. We are enjoying every moment with her and etching the tiniest of details into our memories to cherish forever.

Welcome to the world Izzy.

Paul and Helen

June 4th, 2010

A small snippet of the getting ready shots from Paul and Helen’s stunning wedding. I will blog more from the rest of the wedding soon, but just couldn’t resist these!

Once again, a wedding photographed by Amy French for me while I’m on maternity leave. Amy, you rock!

As for any news with the little ones arrival. We’re still waiting. Slightly patiently, slightly not!

Enjoy!

Brenda and James

May 29th, 2010

When I found out we would be having a new addition to the family in June (I’m due in 8 days, woohoo!) one of the first things that occured to me after all the initiial thoughts of excitement etc was what about my summer weddings? I debated for about half a minute having to cancel on all my wonderful couples but that just didn’t sit right with me at all, it’s not the kind of person I am. There was no way I could photograph the weddings myself, so the only solution was to find someone I could trust enough to do an amazing job, represent me and my business in the best light possible and basically be an awesome person too! I have to say it didn’t take me long to decide who I wanted to fill that role, so I sent out an e-mail and she accepted my offer, woohoo!!

All of my summer weddings are going to be photographed by Amy French of Rubistyle . I knew I could trust her completely to do all of the above listed things, and boy did she ever and so much more. For the first wedding that she would be covering for me I had the equally amazing Tammie Thessing (her website is here fly in from the US to shoot with Amy. The lovely Icelandic volcano made that a bit of a blood pressure raising experience for a few days but all worked out perfectly, thank goodness! Together they did an incredible job of Brenda and James’ wedding.

From the photos, wow, I wish I was there! Everything looks fantastic, everyone looks so relaxed and like they are enjoying themselves 100%, as they should on such a fabulous and important day! The ceremony took place in the University Chapel in Galway and the reception in Clooncauneen Castle just outside of Galway city. Both locations look great from the photos, again, I wish I’d been there to share the day with you both!

A huge congratulations to you both, James and Brenda.

Enjoy!

Getting ready

February 22nd, 2010

First off, I am so so behind in my blogging it’s not even funny, to be honest it’s a disgrace how far behind I am!

Second, I don’t normally do this, but it has to be done. What’s that you say? Well I’m going to be blogging about this wedding twice. Yup, twice. And this blog post is going to be all photos from the getting ready. My favourite time of the wedding day to photograph! I had to be do it because there are so many photos I adore from Niamh’s (remember Niamh and Paul’s engagement session from the middle of December? Their wedding was the end of December. Yea, that’s how far behind I am!) getting ready, I couldn’t pick just 1 or 2 like I normally do, so figured I’d blog all about it!

well, I’ll let the photos speak for themselves now. They’re in chronological order of the morning, and just, wow….

2010- a new year full of changes!

January 13th, 2010

First off let me wish everyone a very happy new year for 2010. Around here it’s going to be a year of changes, some small, some big and some huge!

The small changes are those to some of my prices, more specifically my wedding prices. Some prices have been put up and some have even been brought down. I have the new prices and the new package layouts given below. As you can see I’ve changed from a credit system in the packages to giving a % off of product prices, I think this should work out a little better for everyone! If you have any questions on the new prices please don’t hesitate to contact me, I’d be delighted to answer any questions.

The big changes are that we will be moving into our new, fresh and truly fabulous house hopefully in the early summer. This is something we are both really looking forward to. Our own space. One with loads of light and perfect for photos! A lot of hard work is being put in by the lovely and so many of our family and friends, it will be very special to have a house that was not done completely by strangers. At the moment all the ground floor walls are up, the concrete was poured today for the balcony/part of the kitchen roof, and the timber has arrived for our roof, hopefully the next phase of construction will be done by tomorrow. I am keeping a photo journal of the progress but don’t have any yet of what it looks like at the moment, and I won’t bore you with a through the stages look at the building. Not yet anyway, I may do a post on that soon!

The huge change is going to come in the form of something tiny (I hope!). We found out just before christmas that we will have a new family member the start of June. The cheeky monkey was hiding for almost 4 months and we had no idea, they’re taking after their daddy already with cheekiness like that! We are so excited for their arrival and are busy sussing out the best of everything that a baby needs. There is a lot to do before then (note the big change mentioned above, that needs to be finished!) and only a few months to do it in but we’ll get there I’m sure!

Here’s one of their first ever photos, the first of many, many photos I’m sure!

This huge change means that I will be taking maternity leave from May 1st to the middle of July (date yet to be decided). I will still be taking bookings for wedding through these dates and they will be photographed by a wonderful colleague of mine and all editing and album design etc will be done by myself, I can confident that you would be just as delighted with the final results as has I photographed the wedding myself. I will not however be taking any booking for life, equus or commercial photography through these dates.

So it really is a year of changes around here, all very exciting changes! I hope 2010 is as exciting for everyone else.

*Any wedding enquires where 2009 prices have been supplied, these prices will be valid for only you until January 31st 2010. After that date all weddings booked will be subject to 2010 prices.

Paul and Niamh

December 19th, 2009

I’m terrible, really I am, it has taken me weeks to get this blog post up! Things are hectic here with Christmas very fast approaching, 6 days now, eek!

Back during the start of December after weeks of record breaking rain and heart breaking floods Niamh, Paul and myself finally met up for their engagement session (we had to cancel the first date due to the bad weather) at the gorgeous Coole Park, Galway. The park is stunning, with forrestry, gardens, the river and beautiful walkways around it all. Only it hadn’t occured to me until I pulled into the park carpark that it may in fact be flooded there too. And I was right. The beautiful gardens and much of the walkways were under water, so much so that in places the water completely hid the picnic tables that are dot the park. We carried on anyway and had a lovely morning stroll around the park, taking some detours across the forrest when arriving at a flooded dead-end, some successful, some were not so much!

I had a wonderful morning with Paul and Niamh, and I am so looking forward to their wedding the end of this month. See you soon guys!

Enjoy!

Clothing guide, now in pictures!

October 28th, 2009

Anyone who has had a life session with me knows that I send you out a clothing guide when you first book your session. it’s hard to decide what to wear for photos, heck I have problems deciding what to wear every morning and I’m behind the camera, so it just gives a little helping hand. And you guys always seem to really appreciate it too. But now, I’ve gone one step better, the clothing guide now in pictures!

Michele of Pinkletoes Photography was kind enough to share these 2 photos below that she uses as her clothing guide. Her style is great, and exactly what I love too. Bold colours, stripes, polka dots, layers, cute! I hope these will make it easier for you to pick out what to wear for your upcoming sessions, and as I always say if you’re not sure just take out everything you like and we’ll make up outfits together when I arrive!

PS Don’t forget the deadline for ordering your products in time for Christmas is December 1st, that’s just over a month away!

Tim and Trina

October 22nd, 2009

When Trina first contacted me, she said her wedding to Tim was just as much, if not more, about their families and all of their love than just the wedding day itself. This was so so clear to me last Saturday. The love was just, wow! Such close families. Such wonderful people. And of course their own little family shared it the most. Tim, Trina and the gorgeous little Evie Mae.

I had such a lovely time with you all last weekend. Thank you so much for having me as a part of your day.

I hope you enjoy the sneaky peek at your photos.
